surfactant: n : a substance capable of reducing the surface tension of a liquid in which it is dissolved [syn: wetting agent, surface-active agent] i think the redline water wetter is a bit misleading. if you scroll down page they tested it with 50/50 glycol and then with plain water. glycol is merely a solvent made from petrolium products. my container of peak antifreeze here in my hand contains primarily glycol, but also has additional additives for ph control, surfactant, corrosion inhibitors, defoamer, silicates, and dyes. if you prefer to buy additional addives .. fine .. it stimulates the economy using your money. the trick of using a few drops of dish or laundry detergent in radiator am aware of since the 60s ive noticed some cars it does a lot to, others not as much, made a decent difference on the z and miata (using infrared thermo at work), but no difference on my escort. take it or leave it, its still better than paying whatever water wetter is
 hey, i used to have a z! |
